Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing some statistics showcasing Harry Kane’s impressive 2017 campaign.
The Spurs Web shared an image showing off some of the England captain’s statistics from 2017; in which he scored a hugely impressive 39 goals in 36 games. This also included six hat-tricks, with just three of his goal tally coming from the penalty spot.
The 26-year-old hit 29 goals in the Premier League 2016/17 season before following that up with 30 in the 2017/18 season, although injuries have certainly looked to have played their part in ensuring he is yet to match those impressive figures, with the academy graduate hitting just 17 goals in 2018/19 and 11 goals so far this season (per Transfermarkt).
Will Kane ever be able to score as many goals as he did in 2017 again?
Yes

That’s actually ridiculous

Best striker in the world along with Lewa. He needs to stay fit. It appears his ankles are made of glass. Hope his injury record improves. If it does, he will be scoring 30plus goals easily each year

He was unplayable most weeks. Deadly finishing. All sorts of goals and so much movement and play outside of the box. Sadly his game has had to change due to injuries. Dont think he’ll ever better that season.

Some Spurs fans took the opportunity to joke about the 26-year-old being a ‘penalty merchant’.

These Spurs fans clearly still seem to be impressed by Kane’s extraordinary 2017.
What do we think?
Kane was in superb form back in 2017 and you wonder if he will ever be able to achieve that elite goal-scoring level with Spurs again after his injuries.
