Spurs fans have flocked to a tweet from Alasdair Gold after he relayed the news that there will be no NFL games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until at least 2021.
The Football.london journalist shared a statement from the NFL which includes an update on the schedule of games, suggesting that games will be taking place in usual stadiums, rather than certain games being played in Mexico and the UK as was originally planned.
It was announced in 2015 that the North London club would enter into a 10-year deal with the NFL to host games at their new stadium, with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium first hosting a game between the Chicago Bears and the Oakland Raiders in October of last year. However, any potential financial gain from future fixtures looks to have been lost for now due to the current viral outbreak.
Are you worried about Spurs' finances ahead of next season?

The remaining season and next season is going to be very difficult financially if no fans can safely attend games in 2020 and goes for all sports

Gonna have to sell players now I guess

That’s terrible news, less money coming in, even less money being available for transfers.

These Spurs fans are clearly concerned about the potential financial impact of having no NFL games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2021 at the earliest.
What do we think?
It was suggested earlier this week that Spurs would be reliant on free transfers and swap deals in any potential signings this summer transfer window and this latest news certainly won’t improve that situation.
