Fans of Tottenham have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports of the club’s interest in rumoured Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton target, Philippe Coutinho.
According to recent reports by Football Insider, Barcelona are looking for a buyer for the 27-year-old, and have stated that the Brazilian would be available on a season-long loan or a permanent deal.
In a separate report, Football Insider claims that Jose Mourinho’s side could be interested in a loan deal for Coutinho, with the potential of including an option-to-buy clause, with Paul Robinson stating that he can “see the Coutinho deal being done”.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Ricky Sacks on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that Tottenham do not need the midfielder and that their club should avoid signing him.
Would Coutinho be a good signing for Spurs this summer?
Yes
No
[@FootyInsider247] | Tottenham Hotspur prefer to sign Philippe Coutinho on a season-long loan rather than a permanent deal.
Spurs informed Barcelona they are exploring a loan or a loan-to-buy transfer and would be reluctant to cover all of the playmaker’s wages.#THFC #COYS pic.twitter.com/mpE1SeYUq4

We are NOT signing him man.

Please no. I don’t like him. Why Spurs don’t watch Tagliafico from Ajax?
— jessie navajas (@jessienavajas2) May 26, 2020
Nobody wants him permanently???

Not exactly a surprise.

Loan will be only possibility. We along with most clubs won’t spend anything.

I’d probably agree with that, there won’t be any resale value on Coutinho in a few years time

Same old Levy. Never change…

What do we think?
So far this season, Coutinho, who has been on loan at Bayern Munich, has scored eight goals and provided six assists over his 22 Bundesliga appearances, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.27.
In addition to this, the 27-year-old has also scored one goal and provided two assists over his seven Champions League fixtures, averaging an impressive match rating of 7.35.
As such, it is slightly surprising to see that many of these Spurs fans would rather their club didn’t make a move for Coutinho this summer.
