Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a post from journalist Fabrizio Romano which suggests that Jose Mourinho is keen to sign a new centre-back this summer.
The Italian reporter responded to a question from a Spurs fan on his Instagram page, suggesting that Mourinho is in the market for a central defender ahead of next season. After The Spurs Web shared this news with fans, plenty of Lilywhites supporters were quick to have their say on the reported transfer news.
It is perhaps no surprise to hear that Mourinho is keen on a centre-back, considering Jan Vertonghen looks likely to leave the club this summer with his contract expiring. The Lilywhites have also kept just four clean sheets in the Premier League this season, and it seems as if Mourinho has identified the position in which he is most keen to strengthen in the summer transfer window.

Mourinho may well be keen on a centre-back, but with it having been reported that the Portuguese manager will be limited to free transfers and swap deals this summer, it may prove a struggle to bring in his top targets.
