Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing Chelsea winger Willian after it was suggested that the North London club have now won the race to sign the Brazilian this summer.
According to BeIN Sports presenter Richard Keys on the Keys and Gray Show, (via Evening Standard) the 31-year-old is ‘on his way to Tottenham.’ (via Ricky Sacks) Spurs were famously close to signing the winger from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013, before a last-minute decision saw him join Chelsea instead.
However, it now seems as if the former Shakhtar Donetsk man is keen on a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Spurs and with his contract set to expire this summer, a move to the Lilywhites certainly seems to be on the cards.
Will you be happy if Spurs sign Willian this summer?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the latest reports on Willian can be seen in the tweets below.
If Spurs are forced to sign players on a free, I’d take Willian. Experience as a winner which is needed in the Spurs squad to move to the next level

Class player
Great signing if we get him.— gerry connolly (@gerryconnolly3) May 5, 2020
While he played for a direct rival, this could actually be some great business from Levy. If you bring Willian in on a free and then sell either Lamela or Lucas, we would be making a profit in a summer where we desperately need transfer funds. Willian > Lamela and maybe Lucas

Really hope we sell Lamela now. Lucas is a good squad player to have.

He may play for a direct rival but everyone knows he’s a quality player and can significantly improve our team

He has an arrogance and winning mentality. This squad needs that.

These Spurs fans clearly seem to agree that Willian would be a good signing for the club this summer.
What do we think?
Willian certainly has a lot of experience in the Premier League; having featured 226 times in the top-flight; contributing 33 goals and 37 assists (per Transfermarkt) and could certainly add something to the Spurs squad.
