Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing former defender Kevin Wimmer.
The Spurs Web prompted a discussion on the Austrian amongst Lilywhites supporters on Twitter, with plenty fans of the North London club quick to share their opinion on the 27-year-old.
Spurs signed the centre-back from Köln in 2015 and he spent two years with the Lilywhites, before joining Stoke City for a reported £17.46 million in 2017 (per Transfermarkt).
During his time at Spurs, the Austrian international made 31 first-team appearances but failed to contribute a goal or an assist (per Transfermarkt). He has spent this season on loan with Royal Excel Mouscron in the Belgian Pro League, making 18 appearances in all competitions.

Suffered with not playing so his fitness and sharpness suffered. When he got a run of games due to Jans injury, he was fantastic but he was never gonna get him ahead of him or Toby so when he became a bit part player, he was rubbish. Shame

First season when he came in for Jan I though he was fantastic! But unfortunately went off the boil after that.

Played well when he had to replace Jan.
The next season seemed like he went backwards.

Deteriorated after the OG against Arsenal

These Spurs fans seem to be in agreement that whilst Wimmer started well, he declined a lot during his time with the club.
What do we think?
The fact that Wimmer spent the season on loan in Belgium suggests that he perhaps no longer has the talent to be a regular in the Premier League, so Spurs selling him to Stoke for nearly £18 million looks to have been a good deal in retrospect.
