Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing some quotes from Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, in which he discusses the reported interest being shown in him.
Sky Sports suggested in January that Spurs were interested in signing the former Bayern Munich man this summer, which has led to the Danish international to comment on their reported interest. He spoke to Viaplay Sport Live, with quotes relayed by Danish outlet B.T., saying: “It would be a lie to say I hadn’t read [the rumour]. It’s a big club and I also think Christian Eriksen has positive memories from there.”
So far this season, the 24-year-old has averaged a solid 6.82 rating for his performances in the Premier League, although he has contributed no goals and just one assist in 28 appearances (per WhoScored). The midfielder is currently valued at £10.8 million, suggesting that he could be a relatively cheap option for Spurs in the summer transfer window.

These Spurs fans certainly seem to agree that Hojbjerg could be an excellent signing this summer.
What do we think?
Hojbjerg has made, on average, the fourth-most tackles and the second-most interceptions in the Southampton squad this season (per WhoScored), suggesting that he could be a great signing for the defensive-midfield role in Jose Mourinho’s squad.
