Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some quotes from Southampton captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The North London club has been linked with a move for the former Bayern Munich man this summer and he has now spoken out about his future with the Saints on Sport1, saying (per The Spurs Web):
“I know what I want, the club knows it too. I want to play at an even higher level than I am currently.
“I’m not saying goodbye and I’m focused on my club, but my goal is very clear: I want to win the Premier League and the Champions League.”
So far this season, the Danish international has averaged a solid 6.82 rating for his performances in the Premier League, with Whoscored listing his strengths as ball interceptions, concentration, and aerial duels. This perhaps suggests that he could be the sort of defensive-midfielder to replace Victor Wanyama in Spurs’ squad; after the Kenyan completed a move to Montreal Impact in March.
Do you think Spurs will sign Hojbjerg this summer?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the quotes from Hojbjerg can be seen in the tweets below.
He sort of ticks every box for us for what we need. Good Age. Cheaper than what he would be. Knows the league. Good English.

If he can revive his 2017 form he’ll be an incredible DM
Mourinho would get him to focus on the defensive aspect of his game again

These Spurs fans would clearly love to see their club make a move for the Southampton ace this summer.
What do we think?
Hojbjerg’s quotes certainly seem to suggest that he is looking for a change of scenery and perhaps Spurs will be able to bring the £10.8 million-rated man ahead of next season.
