Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing Gedson Fernandes after Alasdair Gold shared his article about the midfielder.
Spurs signed the Portuguese midfielder on an 18-month loan from Benfica in the January transfer window, although he has found game-time tough to come by so far, making just two starts in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side. However, Gold suggested in his article (per Football.london) that:
“Gedson’s versatility, or lack of a defined position yet, means Mourinho could turn him into the next Moussa Sissoko, the legs in the midfield but with more ability to thread a pass through to the attackers or arrive in the opposition box himself to finish off a move.”
Therefore, perhaps Spurs fans will see a lot more of the 21-year-old when the season resumes and he will no doubt want to impress Mourinho, with Spurs having an option to buy the youngster when his loan finishes at the end of next season.
Would you like to see Spurs make Fernandes' transfer a permanent one?

What we’ve seen of the lad so far really excites me to be honest.
I see him as a major upgrade on Sissoko, as he looks like he has a good engine, but with far more composure up an around the opposition box. Coul well become a regular starter when we start back.— ricky tickler (@deannosbest) May 16, 2020
I am excited about him he is very talented with lots of potential . I am glad he has gone under the radar to develop without pressure.Mourihno is keeping him low key

Definitely a good player in there

I think he’s a good young one because he showed he has a good midfield engine and technical ability. Better than Sissoko was at this stage in his Spurs career!

Gedson to Jose is like Foyth to Poch. Both passion projects that will take time to mold. Fully expect Poch to come in for Foyth wherever he goes.

These Spurs fans clearly have faith that Fernandes can be a big player for Spurs next season.
What do we think?
It will be interesting to see how much Fernandes features next season after a full pre-season with Mourinho and if he impresses, perhaps the club will be convinced to make his move permanent.
