Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
It was reported by Football Insider that Spurs are ready to make a move for the Barcelona ace, after it was confirmed that Bayern Munich won’t be exercising their option to purchase the Brazilian, after he spent the season on loan with the Bundesliga side. This is despite the 27-year-old generally impressing; having averaged a 7.27 rating for his performances in the German top flight so far this season.
The report suggests that Spurs are one of several clubs asking to be kept informed about the midfielder’s situation this summer, with Barcelona making him available either for another season-long loan or at a significantly reduced price. After this news was shared by Ricky Sacks on Twitter, Spurs fans have been airing their opinions on the former Liverpool man.
Would Coutinho be a good signing for Spurs this summer?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the latest report on Coutinho can be seen in the tweets below.
Please NO. He’s finished at the top level. And even if he wasn’t, he’s the anti type of a mourinho playmaker. Hardly any defensive output or pressing ability.

Why would we consider wasting money on another attacking player? We should be only going for a back up striker and defenders including cdm this window.

Why? He doesn’t want to join Spurs. Also, why is Bayern (and Barca) letting him leave?

One fan even suggested that he’ll be Pochettino’s first signing at Newcastle, which relates to the fact that the Magpies have been linked to the Brazilian, as well as the Argentine.

These Spurs fans don’t seem too keen on a move for Coutinho this summer.
What do we think?
If Coutinho is available this summer, Spurs could certainly do a lot worse than bringing in a midfielder who contributed 41 goals and 37 assists in his last spell in the Premier League (per Transfermarkt).
