Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting negatively to the reported news that the Lilywhites are one of five Premier League clubs interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana this summer.

According to the Daily Mirror (via Daily Hotspur), the 32-year-old is attracting the interest of Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham, Burnley, and Leicester City ahead of the summer transfer window. The former Southampton man’s contract with Jurgen Klopp’s side is set to expire this summer, meaning he will be available on a free transfer.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

So far this season, the England international has struggled to force his way into Liverpool’s side, which is perhaps unsurprising considering the season they have had. The midfielder has made 15 appearances in the top flight, 12 of which have been from the bench, averaging a 6.34 rating (per WhoScored).

Would Lallana be a good signing for Spurs?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported interest in Lallana can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans clearly don’t want to see their club sign Lallana this summer, with one fan reminiscing about the time Lallana and a Spurs youth team player had a disagreement.

What do we think?

Spurs already have the likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele available in their midfield, so it seems strange that they’re being linked with another midfielder of that ilk. Although with the report from the Mirror suggesting Leicester City are strong favourites, perhaps these Spurs fans don’t have too much to worry about.
