Tottenham Hotspur-focused Twitter account @Daily_Hotspur recently caught the attention of some Tottenham fans after they posted a tweet which states that French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is allegedly “determined to prove himself” at Spurs, “despite interest from Barcelona”.
This alleged news originally surfaced via a report from The Telegraph, which has described Ndombele’s time at Spurs as “difficult”. This report cites a “strained relationship” with manager Jose Mourinho, as well as alleged interest from La Liga leaders Barcelona as potential reasons for the midfielder, who is currently valued at £46.8m according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, to consider leaving the club.
However, this report goes on to claim that the 23-year-old “is insistent that he wants to prove himself at Tottenham and not leave the club as a flop”. This report has gone down well with some Spurs supporters after it was shared by @Daily_Hotspur on Twitter. Read the positive reactions of some Tottenham fans to this post in the tweets below.

I hope this is true.
That’d be the sort of attitude that’ll drive home to succeed— It all seems a bit trivial now (@MattyFrench82) May 3, 2020

What do we think?
Ndombele became Spurs’ club-record signing when he arrived from Lyon for £53.8m last summer, as per the BBC. Despite that, the player has managed to start just 12 of his club’s 29 Premier League games this term. Furthermore, 11 Tottenham players have earned a higher average match rating than Ndombele in the Premier League this season, according to WhoScored.com
With all of that in mind, it may be understandable why Ndombele may feel that he has still got something to prove at Tottenham.
