Some Southampton fans have been slating Guido Carrillo after a post about him caught their attention on Twitter.
The official Southampton Twitter account recently posted about Carrillo, wishing the player a happy birthday. He turned 29 on 25th May and the Saints Twitter account marked the occasion with a tweet.
Many Southampton fans flocked to this post. They made their negative opinion about the player clear, while others mocked him by saying that they don’t remember who he is.

Goodo. He’s now too old to play professional football. Not that he was ever good enough to play it in the first place

Carrillo joined Southampton from Monaco in the winter of 2018 for a fee of £19.80 million. But he was loaned out to Spanish club Leganes in the summer of 2018. In the summer of 2019, he was loaned out to Leganes once again and that temporary spell ends at the end of the current season (via Transfermarkt). He is currently valued at £4.32 million.
What do we think?
Carrillo has made only 10 first-team appearances for the Saints and failed to score even once. This may explain why Southampton fans don’t have a liking for Carrillo. His contract at Southampton runs out in the summer of 2021 and Saints fans can only hope that he makes some impact next season.
