Some Southampton fans have been discussing the latest news update about the Premier League returning next month.
The official Southampton website recently posted the update about the Premier League’s potential return. It revealed that shareholders have now agreed a provisional restart date for the Premier League if all safety requirements are in place.
Two games will be played on the 17th of June, while a full round of matches will be played from the 19th and 20th of June onwards. All the games will be played behind closed doors because of the pandemic.
The club’s official Twitter account posted this article on social media too. Many Saints fans flocked to this update and made their delight clear.
Potentially football on every day. Thing of absolute beauty. ?

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men were 14th in the Premier League before football was suspended because of the pandemic. They have 34 points in the bag and find themselves seven points clear of 18th-placed Bournemouth. But they are only six points behind Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal too (via Whoscored).
Considering the club last played a football game on the 7th of March, one can see why Southampton fans are delighted by the update. But some other Saints fans think that it won’t be plausible to restart next month.
I really think this is stupid and money grabbing the TV money…. Should gave voided the season and start back when we can. I for one will not be renewing season ticket. Till there is a vacation for this I will follow from afar I think….

Completely inconsiderate and Pointless starting the premier league up. All the other leagues around the Country have had to sacrifice so why can’t the Premier League. Sorry but this is Wrong ! Just pure greed as usual and no consideration for the fans again !!!

While fans are certainly entitled to their opinion, some of them clearly missed watching the Saints play regularly. Considering how the club can still seal a finish in the top half of the table, the fans should be pleased that the Premier League is returning in June.
