Actor and Newcastle fan Steve Wraith has confirmed that he still believes that the club’s proposed takeover will still go through, despite a new report from The Guardian.

To kick things off, who is this man from the 2009/10 season?

A report claims that they have received news that the World Trade Organisation has found the Saudi government to be behind piracy station BeoutQ.

The Daily Mail also claims the same thing, though they state that the report from WTO will not be published until 16th June, despite the Premier League receiving it on 11th May.

Wraith, though, thinks that this is a ‘scaremongering story’ and that the takeover ‘will go through’.

What do we think?

Wraith has remained positive that the Premier League will approve Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed takeover – a quick look through his timeline will reveal this.

However, these new claims from both The Guardian and the Daily Mail have thrown doubt over the takeover, though the buying side insists that no one involved in the takeover has any links to piracy.

The piece in the Daily Mail also claims that the Premier League’s decision will be delayed for at least another week as they search through the evidence.

A report in The Sun had claimed that the Premier League had approved the deal and it would be announced on 1st June, but this new evidence could mean that date is now irrelevant.

Despite the concerns raised in the report in The Guardian, Wraith remains very positive about the takeover.

It will be interesting to see if he is right to be so confident.
