Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been reflecting on former Magpies striker Salomon Rondon.
This comes after Newcastle fan Twitter account @NUFCblogcouk shared a post on their page claiming they miss having Rondon at the club.
Would you take Rondon back at Newcastle?
Yes
No
The page also added that the striker was “an absolute beast” before calling Rondon “one of the best loan signings” the club has ever made.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans who were eager to share their views on the striker.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post:
Man I miss @salorondon23?
What an absolute beast he was. His hold up play & passion was one thing, but his involvement in 19 goals (12G & 7A) took some doing too.
One of the best loan signings we've ever made – yet so bittersweet given it proved to be his only season at #NUFC pic.twitter.com/1it7kPt5ua

He doesn’t rely on pace, he can easily play at his best for another 3/4 years. I’d love it if he comes back next season.

Loved Rondom… Give it his all great fitness level for a big lad….
Should of been kept. ??— Magpiemarge1ofthe10k (@Margeandrews20) May 3, 2020
He should be one of the first signings we should make this year. Imagine him up top with a top class quick forward. Be ideal

He should be our number 1 priority signing this summer. 3 year deal.

The 30-year-old spent one year on loan with Newcastle between August 2018 and May 2019 from West Bromwich Albion. During that time, the Venezuelan scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in 33 total appearances for the Tyneside club (per Transfermarkt). Now that the subject of Rondon has been brought up again, this gave lots of Newcastle fans the opportunity to gush over the striker once again.
He came into his own when he was 100% fit & match sharpe. Few questioned his age on a 3 year deal but he gaurented GOALS #NUFC

Rafa might bring him back

Takeover or no takeover I’d sign him regardless. Outstanding forward.

True gent, and an absolute beast on the pitch. I was devastated when he left.

What do we think?
The fact that so many Newcastle fans have been reminiscing so positively over Rondon just goes to show how much of a positive impact he left on the fans during his time at the club.
