Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Will Shearer comments on the club’s ongoing takeover deal.
In his post, the son of Newcastle legend Alan quote-tweets a post by NUFC 360, which relays details of a report regarding the progress of the takeover, before commenting: “It’s got to be close now! Hoping it can get done soon.”
In reaction to his post, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many questioning whether or not Alan Shearer has any insider information, while others have stated that they won’t believe anything until the club make a statement.

What do we think?
According to the report by Football Insider that is referenced in NUFC 360’s tweet, the Premier League’s forensic investigation into allegations of illegal streaming involving the Saudi government and a homegrown pirate TV and streaming service is yet to find sufficient evidence to support blocking Mike Ashley’s proposed £300m sale of the club.
This would appear to be good news for Newcastle fans, however, as some of the replies have stated above, they will not be celebrating the takeover until the club have announced it themselves.
