A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which includes a screenshot with someone’s opinion on the Toon’s proposed takeover by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium.
The tweet states that Newcastle fans did not have a say when Mike Ashley tried to change the stadium name or neglect the training ground – nor in any decision he has made.
The tweet then claims that likewise, Toon fans will also have no say in blocking or approving the takeover.
It appears that this is aimed at those who have criticised Newcastle fans or asked them to oppose the takeover, and it has drawn a good response from many Toon fans.
Do you agree with this post?
Yes, it is spot on
No, I don't agree

All the attacks should be Ashley he is the one selling to the Saudis and he is the one happy to take 300M Saudi money…I have seen no criticism for this anywhere yet in national media.
Shocking the fans somehow are taking more backlash than the owner himself.

True we never had a say in anything… Fact we never stopped letting him know how we felt.

The dirty tricks brigade are doing everything in fact anything to try and derail this takeover. This is not about morals or piracy it’s all about politics. And I believe politics should be kept out of football and sport in general.

The outside world didn’t care when we wanted them to display Ashley for his poor morals, now we could be rich all of a sudden the outside world are all on their moral high horse and want us to protest. Ok then.Maybe if they cared about morals before Ashley would have already gone.

What do we think?
Newcastle fans have been asked by the likes of Miguel Delaney and Hatice Cengiz to stand up to the takeover and speak out against it.
Delaney asked fans and the media to stop using their ‘#cans,’ which has become the way Toon fans have talked about this takeover.
This is because the Saudi regime is accused of having Jamal Khashoggi murdered (the fiancé of Cengiz) and other human rights abuses.
However, it appears that these Toon fans are taking a stand and considering a recent survey revealed that 96.7% of Newcastle fans were supportive of this takeover; we are not surprised they have done this.
