A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Mark Douglas in which he claimed that supporters are ‘the lowest priority’ as talk of the proposed takeover continues.
The Evening Chronicle reporter claimed that this current deal for Newcastle to change hands ‘sums up football’ because, as of yet, there has been no guidance on this takeover from anyone ‘in an official position’.
This post from Douglas has drawn the attention of these Toon fans.
Do you agree with Douglas?
Yes, no one cares about us
No, he is wrong
It sums up football that a Premier League club can be traded between billionaires and the actual custodians of that club are not given a single word of guidance by anyone in an official position.
It's almost as if the supporters are the lowest priority in this business.

For the last 13 years we’ve been made to feel like an inconvenience. We don’t expect a full-blown announcement, but no communication about the takeover or refunds on season tickets is shocking.

To be honest Mark, I think the PL have been just as bad. Stringing fans along. Game for the people? Yeah right.

We are the lowest
Tv money and advertising is king— jamie hall (@GWM_1984) May 13, 2020
But the fans should be the first to question the politics of any takeover apparently ????

The supporters are the lowest priority, you only have to look at the ridiculous kick off times and travelling needed to suit tv companies

Mark I think @premierleague are just sitting on this now and hoping both sides just give up and make the decision for them. They and @FA are cowards who are just interested in the big 6 clubs and the TV money. They are as corrupt as the govt.

Its all on ashley. There is nothing wrong in that hutt or nufc coming out with a statement that there is an offer that has been accepted and is with the pl for approval. The contempt he holds the north is disgusting but we shouldn’t be surprised

What do we think?
The proposed takeover of Newcastle United, which will see Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium replace Mike Ashley, is currently with the Premier League going through the required checks.
However, the Premier League have refused to comment on any aspect of the deal.
The buying side has leaked out information and remain ‘overwhelmingly positive’ that the deal will be accepted.
However, reporter Keith Downie did claim in a recent tweet that neither the Premier League nor Newcastle were allowed to say anything – so perhaps that could explain the silence.
Despite this, though, we have sympathy for these Toon fans who just want answers on the takeover.
