A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Luke Edwards as he offered his thoughts on the proposed takeover of the Toon.
At the weekend, The Telegraph reporter said that he thinks ‘the next seven days are absolutely crucial’, and that is because he believes that if it is not done by Saturday, then ‘we will see some sort of response from Mike Ashley.’
In a reply to one fan, Edwards also said that the exclusivity deadline runs out at the end of the week, and after that, other parties can submit bids to Ashley.
However, he did say that he was still ‘convinced’ that the club would be sold.
Does this update worry you?

No
This post from Edwards has drawn the attention of these Newcastle fans.
I think next seven days are absolutely crucial for this #nufc takeover: if it’s not done by this time next week I think we will see some sort of response from Mike Ashley. I remain confident but there needs to be progress. Stay calm, I remain convinced it will be sold

Nothing to do with Ashley. It’s hands of the premier league. Bizzare tweet.

Will it be done or not? It seems to me you’re trying to convince yourself as well us. We’re all going insane but what’s another week or two?

If it’s not done, it’s not done. We’re in the middle of a pandemic. Calm yourself down. I know there’s nothing else to write about but this is just stirring for the sake of it.. #nufc

We’re in the normal time frame for a O&D test, 3-4 weeks. Why would there be any concern at this point? This takeover is also more complicated due to BeIN, some objection, and multiple parties involved.
It’s not crazy to think it takes longer than usual.

I don’t understand this, if it’s in the hands of the premier league how could Mike Ashley respond? I thought when it gets this far nobody could intervene? #NUFC #NUFCTakeover

What do we think?
The deal for Ashley to sell the club to Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium is currently with the Premier League after a deposit was paid to Ashley.
So, a lot of Toon fans believe that Ashley can’t do anything about this now that it is with the league.
Edwards’ tweet has not worried many Toon fans judging by the replies, who still feel confident and think that this post means nothing.
