A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Keith Downie as he provided his view on the proposed takeover of the Toon.
The Premier League is currently going through checks after a deposit was paid to Mike Ashley by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium.
There were reports that the Premier League’s decision on the takeover would be announced this week, but new evidence has emerged, which could cause a delay.
This prompted Downie to tweet, and he said that ‘anyone putting a date on it is taking a punt’.
He then said in reply to one fan that no one knows when the Premier League will make their decision and that neither the Premier League or Newcastle are allowed to say anything about the process.

What do we think?
The Sky Sports reporter clearly understands the frustration that many Newcastle fans are feeling, but we agree with his message that it will take as long as it takes.
There is nothing anyone can do to speed up the process, so we think that Newcastle fans should try and wait patiently for an official announcement.
