A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from their club, wishing Javier Manquillo a happy birthday.
The Spaniard turned 26 on 5th May, but many Newcastle fans were not happy with their club for tweeting about this.
This is because the Toon are in the middle of a proposed takeover by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium.
With the deal currently with the Premier League going through checks, it seems many of these Toon fans were expecting an official announcement about the takeover.
Was this the announcement you were waiting for?

What do we think?
George Caulkin provided an update on the proposed takeover and claimed that the buying side remains ‘overwhelmingly positive’ that they will get the deal done but that there is no timescale for when that will be. (Live blog, 04/05/2020, 19:14)
Judging by this update, we, therefore, recommend Toon fans to sit back and relax and just wait for the Premier League to finish their checks. (Live blog, 04/05/2020, 19:14)
