A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from TalkSPORT that contains an interview they had with Luke Edwards on the proposed takeover of the Toon.
The Daily Telegraph reporter offered his opinion and how he sees the current situation with the takeover.
He believes that there has been a problem with the deal probably because of the piracy issues. (0:24)
However, he also said that he doesn’t think the Premier League have the legal power to block this takeover (0:41) and that he hopes it goes through. (1:34)
This drew the attention of these Toon fans with some unhappy with Edwards’ comments and others feeling that he summed up the situation quite well.
Do you agree with Edwards' comments?
Yes, I am worried
No, it is happening soon

Nothing he said was wrong here. There is anxiety in the fanbase I see it on the t/l daily. I’m still confident of course.
The piracy seems only sticking point which I’m sure can be worked out. Saudi will not want to be involved with piracy if they have a PL club anyway.

Yeahhh it’s not gonna happen is it…

The quotes are given here out of context. If you listen to it, it’s very reasonable.

Not concerned in the slightest
Luke has shown when it comes to the #NUFCTakeover he has nothing of value to offer so I understand why he will make the comment he did just to get some attention

Luke Edwards doesn’t actually know anything, and doesn’t actually want the takeover to happen. Just loves patronising Newcastle fans.

I’ll save everyone a listen… Nothings changed… Put the pitchforks down

Fair play to Luke think that was a pretty good summary of where we are all at with this now tbh

What do we think?
Edwards speaks very clearly and expresses his concerns but also remains hopeful that the Premier League will approve the deal.
However, what he is saying contrasts with Neil Custis’ report in The Sun, which claims that the deal will be announced on the 1st of June.
It will, therefore, be interesting to see if anything happens on that day.
