Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays footage of Jamie Carragher speaking about a potential change of manager under any new ownership at Newcastle.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher stated his belief that Newcastle’s potential new owners should not be criticised if they wanted to bring in the best staff they can, even if that means sacking current manager Steve Bruce.
In reaction to his comments, which were relayed by NUFC 360 on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that Carragher is right in his remarks.
Do you think Steve Bruce should be sacked as soon as the takeover is complete?
Yes
No

If these people like Bruce so much, why don’t they take him at their clubs when we get rid.

Carragher is right, how many times have people in the media told us it’s Ashley’s club, he’s the owner he can do what he likes. Well if the Saudis take over, it will be their club and if they decide to replace Bruce then that’s their right.

I think sacking Bruce immediately avoids the Hughes-type purchase errors that he references! #NUFCTakeover #cans

I can’t see how Bruce can stay on, if when new owners are announced their mission statement states ambitions to play in europe, which i presume it will be! #NUFC

Probably the best analogy I’ve heard from a pundit about the situation

Spot on from Carragher

He’s speaking facts

Bang on this. There’s no point funding a mistake from the start is there? Especially when you have options and finances to get what you want. In fairness to Bruce, he’s not ok, but he isn’t the answer his tactics are outdated and clear there’s never a plan B

Impossible to disagree with him really

What do we think?
Many Newcastle fans would appear to agree with Carragher’s comments and we would also have to agree that his remarks do seem logical.
If Newcastle’s new owners would like to appoint a new manager, such as Mauricio Pochettino as has recently been reported, it would appear that Newcastle fans believe that this change should be made immediately, rather than keeping Bruce on.
