A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Steve Wraith after he offered his opinion on the latest report in The Guardian on the Toon’s proposed takeover.
The Guardian claim that Newcastle’s Saudi-backed takeover is in ‘serious doubt’ after the World Trade Organisation provided evidence to the Premier League about piracy.
Apparently, this proves there is a link between the Saudi government and BeoutQ – a piracy station responsible for the illegal streaming of Premier League games.
However, Wraith, a boxing promoter and Toon fan, has dismissed this latest piece as ‘scaremongering’ and claimed that the takeover will still go through.
This has drawn a mixed reaction from many Newcastle fans, with some agreeing with Wraith and others less confident or bored of the whole thing.
Do you think that this new evidence will have any impact?
Yes
No

Getting ridiculous this man, rather just approve it or decline it, it’s about time we got to the bottom of this.

It’s hard not to get worried when all this comes out. And, no offence, but you just saying it’ll go through but not providing any reasoning is a little unconvincing

Steve, it’s over.

It’s not happening, I’ve been positive for weeks but I’m thinking the Premier league are just waiting for the right time to reject it not the other way around. Sorry for being negative but it doesn’t feel good anymore

What do we think?
Sean Ingle, who produced this piece, also released a similar report on 11th May, although there was no mention of the WTO in that one.
This led Wraith to speculate that the stories are the same, and there is nothing to worry about.
It remains to be seen if he is right to be so positive.
