A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from The Chronicle that includes a link to a piece on what Gareth Bale should do differently to Michael Owen should he join the Toon.
The piece claims that if Bale was to move to Tyneside, then he should live in the North East and act like a leader – two things that Owen did not do.
However, this piece has annoyed many Toon fans who are sick of transfer rumours when their proposed takeover is ongoing.

Other Toon fans meanwhile, saw this as an opportunity to slag off Owen.
Giving 110%, instead of just picking up his wages, would be a starting point….

Wouldn’t be taking any advice from that little rat Michael Owen.

What do we think?
Bale was linked with a move to St. James’ Park by Marca; however, in the latest Pod On The Tyne episode, George Caulkin dismissed these suggestions. (30:34)
So, this piece on Bale seems pretty pointless if, according to Caulkin, the Toon will not be signing the Welshman. (30:34)
It also appears that many Toon fans are sick of these transfer rumours when there has been no official announcement on the takeover yet.
This stuff all seems pointless until there is confirmation.
