A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC 360, which has relayed news from Rod Draper.

He claims that several Premier League clubs have voiced their concerns over the proposed takeover of the Toon by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium.

This is because of piracy, but according to sources close to the deal, no red flags have appeared yet, and PIF has no influence over the Saudi state’s role in BeoutQ.

To kick things off, who is this man from the 2009/10 season?

Therefore, it is thought the Premier League is very unlikely to block the deal on those grounds.

Despite all of this, though, it is the news that other Premier League clubs are against the takeover that has caused these Toon fans to react.

What do we think?

Many Newcastle fans feel that the only reason some Premier League clubs want the takeover to be blocked is because they are worried about what the Toon could become.

This makes sense to us considering PIF, who are expected to take an 80% stake in Newcastle, are worth around £260bn.

Despite this opposition, though, it seems that the deal will go ahead.
