A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Pete Graves regarding the proposed takeover of the Toon.
The Sky Sports man claims that ‘officially it’s still with the PL guys’.
However, he is ‘not aware of any red flags’ and remains positive about the deal.
Graves also said that once the Premier League give the green light, there is still a transfer of funds and documentation that needs to be signed.
He ended his post by claiming that ‘we’re getting closer’ but that ‘a little more patience’ was required.
This tweet from Graves has got these Toon fans talking.
Do you think Graves knows more than he is letting on?
Yes
No
Officially it's still with the PL guys, although I'm not aware of any red flags thus far which is positive. Even after the green light there is still transfer of funds, documentation to sign etc. We're getting closer. A little more patience required tho! #nufc #NUFCTakeover https://t.co/uK00wGlNTW

So “unofficially” they’ve been given the green light.
Cheers Pete. ?

Thats sorted then….I can leave sky sports news and Twitter alone for another week at least …
Cheers Pete at least I can have a nice bank holiday weekend and not be stuck to the TV and Twitter ??— Mr Friday Night #cans (@eurotiger1974) May 22, 2020
So they’ve been told it’s got the green light but the email confirmation will land with them by end of play today with the funds being transferred as we speak. Big celebrations for Eid Mubarak ?

All of the reports seem to indicate they’ve been given the nod unofficially. Once we get eid and the bank holiday out of the way we should hopefully be sorted. Very telling that Bruce and the players now talking openly. If Ashley cared he’d be in big trouble

What do we think?
The Sky Sports man’s use of the word ‘officially’ seems to have given some Toon fans the impression that the deal is done, and they are now just transferring the funds before the deal is announced.
Neil Custis claimed that the Premier League had approved Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed takeover, and an announcement would be made on the 1st of June.
Therefore, we agree with Graves that a little bit more patience is required, as it seems like there will be a positive conclusion to this saga soon.
