A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Martyn Ziegler as he revealed a story about the Toon’s proposed takeover by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium.
He claims that the Premier League sent a letter to the United States government with a list of countries to watch out for in regards to TV piracy, and on that list, Saudi Arabia is included.
Ziegler describes this list as a ‘blacklist,’ but the letter says ‘watchlist’ which has triggered a reaction from these Toon fans.
Are you worried by this update?
Yes

A watchlist and blacklist are different things. Blacklist = No Watchlist = more scrutiny

What do we think?
Newcastle’s proposed takeover has faced numerous challenges in the last few weeks from the likes of Amnesty International, Fair Square, BeIN Sports, and now this.
However, despite all of these challenges, George Caulkin believes that the Premier League will accept the deal ‘very soon.’
Certainly, judging by many of the replies, these Toon fans are not scared of this new report and remain confident the takeover will go through.
