A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC 360, which has relayed news from the Evening Chronicle regarding the proposed takeover of the Toon.
They claim that Mike Ashley is now ready for a conclusion to this long-running takeover saga.
It is now expected that the Premier League will give Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium the green light to take Newcastle from Ashley’s hands.
Once the league approve the deal, funds would then be transferred to Ashley, and then it would be up to Newcastle to announce the takeover.
Do you also think it is a case of when, not if, now for this takeover?
However, the quote that Newcastle fans have reacted to is not in the article, but is instead from a tweet from the Chronicle’s Mark Douglas, who also shared this report on Twitter.
Either way, though, many Toon fans are excited.

How nice will it be to see Newcastle compete with the top 4 after this. As fans that’s all we have ever asked for. I like Bruce but he is out of his depth managing in premier league. Hopefully good times ahead. Now to convince the wife to renew my season ticket. ?

What do we think?
It seems that Mike Ashley’s time in charge of Newcastle is coming to an end, with a report in The Sun claiming that the deal will be announced on 1st June.
