A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which has a screenshot of the Daily Mirror’s back page included in it.
The piece, produced by Ian Murtagh and also featured in the Daily Star, claims that the Toon’s takeover will be announced in the coming days and that the players want Steve Bruce to stay.
This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans who are not happy.
Do you want Bruce to stay beyond the end of this season?
No, need someone else to take us forward
Yes, with the right backing he could do a good job
The #nufc takeover is expected to be announced within days and will make them one of the richest clubs in the world.

Of course they do, most know they’ll be earmarked for replacement

Hmm wonder why training under Bruce is easier and he allows them to do what they want whereas under Rafa it’s harder because of how tactical he is and organised it’s like that under top manager it’s gonna tough but that’s how there successful

The players want Bruce to stay. If true just shows you how much of an easy ride they’ve had and why we’re so bad.

What a joke. Strange why the Steve Bruce fan bus that is the media is so big on protecting him?

Players know that when Bruce is replaced the majority will be history anyway. This is Bruce’s last stand.
The last time the players stood up for a bloke to be given the managers job (Richard Dinnis) we were relegated.— Lambeth Mag (@psad2) May 25, 2020
I would want Bruce too, he is the supply teacher who lets you get away with whatever you want compared to a real teacher such as Rafa.

Players love Bruce because it’s easy mode
We now know for a fact the players get 3 days off after a win, that’s just ridiculous, sounds like something the best manager in the league John Carver would dish out

What do we think?
The deal for Mike Ashley to sell the club to Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium looks to be edging closer to completion, and if this report is to be believed, then the Toon will have new owners by the end of the week.
Bruce spoke about the takeover last week and claimed that he would love to get the opportunity to stay on as manager.
Still, with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Rafael Benitez linked to Tyneside, it could be unlikely that the potential new owners would keep Bruce.
He will, however, stay to complete the season, so if the players want him to stay so badly, they will have to prove it in the final nine games of the season.
