A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC Gallowgate that includes a link to a piece in the Daily Express about Matty Longstaff.
This piece includes quotes from an interview former Spurs footballer Michael Brown did with Football Insider, claiming that any young footballer like Longstaff would be interested in working under Carlo Ancelotti.
The report from Football Insider does not directly link Longstaff with a move to Goodison Park; however, it does include a link to a piece that does state that the Toffees are interested in signing the 20-year-old.
Despite this, Brown’s words have irritated some of these Toon fans, though others don’t believe him.
Do you believe Matty Longstaff would join Everton?

Okey dokey ? what ever you say

I can’t see why you’d want to move given the likely meteoric rise of NUFC in the coming seasons. Unless he’s already of the understanding from the new owners that his future is limited there.

Not a chance hes gonna take a step backward

it’s better for our club and academy to sort something out regarding his contract. he’s proved he can play in the prem at a good level. can’t be letting homegrown talent leave.

That would be a massive loss to us,imo,

What do we think?
The 20-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season, and as of yet, there has been no agreement between the Toon and the younger brother of Sean.
He has been linked with moves to the likes of Club Brugge and Borussia Dortmund, but Newcastle have still not agreed a new deal for Longstaff, who has made 13 appearances in all competitions and scored three goals this season.
These latest claims from Brown show the delicate situation that the Toon find themselves in with Longstaff’s contract, and hopefully, they reach a conclusion that will see him remain on Tyneside.
