A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from The Sun’s Neil Custis.
He claims that the Premier League’s decision on Newcastle’s proposed takeover has been delayed due to ‘operation restart’.
He then said there is a good chance things will be resolved next week.
This backs up a report in The Times, which also claims that the Premier League’s assessment will rumble on into next week.
This has drawn a reaction from many Newcastle fans.
Do you believe this tweet?
No
Yes
Understand the @NUFC takeover has been delayed as Premier League concentrate on 'operation restart' but good chance things will be resolved next week.

Groundhog Day. Steve Bruce more or less confirmed it’s at the last knockings now so some official communication wouldn’t go amiss

What do we think?
Both the report in The Times and Custis’ tweet totally contradict what reporter John Richardson and the Daily Express said on the 20th.
Richardson believed that an announcement was imminent, and the Express claimed that the Premier League had given the deal the green light.
At this moment in time, it is unclear if any of these reports are correct, but George Caulkin did claim that Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium were still waiting for a call from the Premier League.
So, going off that, we would say that Custis could be correct, but a conclusion to this saga might be drawing closer.
