A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Mark Douglas that includes a link to a story in the Chronicle.
The Chronicle talks about a report originally in AS linking the Toon with a move for Nabil Fekir.
The report (via Sport Witness) claims that the Toon might have made an enquiry, but no one has come close to the asking price of at least €50m (£43.6m) and Fekir would prefer to stay in Spain.
This report has got these Toon fans talking with many unsure of this link.
If the takeover does happen would you want Fekir?
Yes
No
Another incredible #nufc link from reputable foreign media – this time it's Nabil Fekir.
Why it's happening and what it tells us about buzz #NUFCTakeover is creating in football: https://t.co/hzxbPccYmz

Mark, feel these articles shouldn’t be put out until it’s sold. It will only make everything worse when it all doesn’t happen!

Other Newcastle fans, though, are excited to be linked with Fekir.
Makes a change being linked with a loan deal or a free transfer player ?.

I would be delighted ecstatic and thrilled but shocked and stunned to if we started signing players of this calibre. This is real life not football manager. Surely we couldn’t ?. Fekir is a fantastic footballer when he looked to set to sign for Liverpool he would have been a

Would love for us sign him. Mint

What do we think?
The 26-year-old moved to Real Betis in the summer of 2019 for £17.78m and he has gone to make 23 appearances and score seven goals as well as provide six assists this season.
Fekir nearly moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2018, but the move fell through because of concerns with his knee.
However, we agree with these Toon fans that it isn’t right to be talking about potential signings for Newcastle when there has been no official announcement on the takeover.
