A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Manu Lonjon about the proposed takeover of the Toon.
Lonjon, a French football journalist, claimed that the completion of Newcastle’s takeover is imminent – and that an announcement could take place within 24-48hrs, following a tweet he sent out on Monday afternoon.
Lonjon was one of the first reporters to break the takeover story in April and has been reliable with most of his other tweets concerning the Toon.
Therefore, this latest update has excited many Newcastle fans.

Lonjon has been correct with most of his takeover claims so far – as he revealed that Mauricio Pochettino was a target to replace Steve Bruce as manager, which ESPN then revealed on the same day.
However, one thing he wasn’t correct with was a tweet on the 20th of April that claimed that an announcement was imminent, and then nothing happened.
So, we will have to wait and see if he is right this time.
