Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that contain comments made by Joelinton on his future at St. James’ Park.
In an interview with the Brazilian edition of Goal (via Chronicle Live), the forward discussed several topics; including his future at the club, stating that he is ‘very happy’ at Newcastle; that he still wants to ‘give a lot of joy to the Newcastle fans’ by finishing the Premier League season on a high – as well as stating his desire to take ‘the club to an international competition’.
In reaction to his comments, which were relayed on Twitter by The Chronicle, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that the club should sell the 23-year-old.
I’d carry him back to Brazil ? one of the worst forwards in our history ?

Surlely got to be 4th out of the door after Ashley, charnley and Bruce. Awful player

Since arriving at Newcastle from Hoffenheim for a fee of £39.6 million last summer, the 23-year-old has managed just one Premier League goal in 29 appearances, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.73.
However, despite his poor return of goals and significant price tag, some Newcastle fans would like to see the striker given another chance next season, rather than being sold this summer.
Do you want Newcastle to sell Joelinton in the summer?
Yes
No
Would definitely keep him

Defo worth keeping and seeing what a proper manager can get out of him and play him where he’s meant to play

Hope he gets correctly utilised next season in his favoured role, with less expectations on his shoulders. That’ll bring more to his game.
Needs confidence installed into him. Been a challenging year for him, which isn’t his fault.

As such, it would appear from their comments that the Newcastle fanbase is split as to whether they would like to see the forward moved on this summer, or kept and played in a formation and system which suits him next season, with the hope that his form improves.
