A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC Gallowgate that includes a screenshot of Allan Saint-Maximin’s Instagram story.
The image appears to show the Frenchman in his car with the caption ‘C’est imminent‘.
This has provoked a large reaction from many Toon fans, with some thinking that this is to do with the proposed takeover.
Do you think Saint-Maximin knows something about the takeover?
Yes
No

Clutching at straws here but the statue of liberty is meant to be a sign of freedom so that emoji could potentially mean our ‘freedom’ is imminent eg the clubs being sold
Or he’s just going back to training

I think the players such as dummett and maximus know something is imminent

However, other Newcastle fans feel that is more to do with the return to training.
If you watch his video back he’s on his way to the training ground

It’s probably more about returning to action, rather than the takeover

What do we think?
Newcastle’s players arrived at the training ground on Sunday to undertake tests before they resume training on Tuesday – so the 23-year-old’s post could have been about that rather than the proposed takeover.
The deal for Mike Ashley to sell Newcastle United to Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium is currently with the Premier League going through the required checks.
Journalist Paul Smith believes that the league is ‘very close’ to approving the takeover.
However, Jonjo Shelvey confirmed in a recent interview (39:10) that the players know as much as the fans about this takeover – so going off that, it would be unlikely that Saint-Maximin knew something that Shelvey didn’t.
