Would you take a prime Faustino Asprilla back in Steve Bruce's current Newcastle squad?Yes, he was a quality player for usNo, wouldn't be good enough |
The 50-year-old former attacker spent two years with Newcastle between 1996 and 1998, having both arrived from and departed for Italian side Parma (per Transfermarkt).
In his relatively short stay with the North East club, Asprilla made 60 appearances for the Toon in which he bagged 18 goals and three assists (per Transfermarkt), and his latest tweet had lots of fans talking.

What do we think?
As can be seen in the responses from these Newcastle supporters, it is clear that many of the St. James’ Park faithful hold the Colombian in positive regard and remember his time at the club fondly.
It is also clear that supporters love the insinuation that their former player wants to see the takeover of Newcastle United completed as soon as possible.
