A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Craig Hope, which includes his piece on the latest problems facing the Toon’s proposed takeover.
The Daily Mail reporter claims that the Premier League have been presented with a report from the World Trade Organisation, which claims that there is a direct link between the Saudi government and BeoutQ – a piracy station that illegally streamed top-flight games.
Hope’s piece claims that the Premier League were handed this evidence on 11th May, and it is likely to delay the Premier League’s decision by at least another week.
However, sources close to the buying side insist that the Saudi individuals involved in the proposed takeover have no link to broadcast piracy.
This new report has not gone down well with these Toon fans who feel that the takeover will be blocked because of this.
Do you believe this report from Hope?
Yes, I am concerned now
No, it is just the same stuff repeated
NUFC takeover remains in doubt after Premier League presented with World Trade Organisation report ruling Saudi state behind illegal streaming of sports in country. Understand PL received 123-page document on May 11 but it won’t be published until June 16 https://t.co/EhdM6AWOIL

Sounds to me like the PL are looking for reasons not to proceed with this. Vested interests – the so called big clubs don’t want their cosy little monopoly on future CL+PL revenue streams put at risk by a new entrant with the wealth and resources to compete with and overtake them

So is it off then? Really unfair to pedal these stories knowing how fans are feeling. Left in the dark for nearly 2 months, is this a retweeet for clicks or an investigated story that is credible?

It’s cruelty beyond compare Craig , you either know or you don’t , just tell the truth , you’re loving the torture

This is getting beyond ridiculous.

What do we think?
A report in The Sun claimed that Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium had their deal approved by the Premier League, and an announcement would be made on 1st June.
However, it now looks like the league’s decision will be delayed further.
We feel for these Newcastle fans because this whole process is clearly draining.
