What do we think?

Considering the fact that David Silva has announced he will be leaving City at the end of the 2019/20 season, it might be understandable why City may be in the market for a replacement. As per WhoScored, Aouar has mainly played in central and left-sided midfield positions for Lyon this term and the playmaker has earned an average overall rating of 7.02 for his Ligue 1 performances during the 2019/20 campaign, making him Lyon’s joint-fourth highest rated player in the league this season.

Furthermore, only Thiago Mendes has made more league assists for Les Gones than Aouar has this term.

In addition to that, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has previously made it known that he appreciates Aouar’s talent. As per the BBC, the Catalan coach has described the playmaker as “incredible” in the past.

With that in mind, it may not come as a surprise if City do make a move for Aouar, should Lyon decide to sell him this summer.
