Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which discusses City centre-back John Stones.
The post, uploaded by Man City Xtra on Twitter, asked City fans how they would rate John Stones’ season so far out of 10.
In reaction, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many giving the defender low marks, stating that he appeared to lack confidence throughout the 2019/20 Premier League season, while others agreed, claiming that Stones has looked like a shadow of his former self.

3, his confidence is shot and looks like a shadow of his former self. I think he’s a decent lad but I feel like, for the sake of his career right now, his future lies away from City.

2.5/10. Sorry but he has had a terrible season. No two ways about it.

What do we think?
While many fans have rated Stones’ season very lowly, it is not surprising after looking at the defender’s stats.
So far this season, the £32.4 million-rated centre-back has managed just 12 Premier League appearances, missing eight matches with a muscle injury in the autumn, before missing a further six fixtures with an unknown injury suffered in late February.
In addition to this, when Stones has been on the pitch, he has averaged a disappointing WhoScored match rating of 6.68 in the Premier League.
As such, it is not surprising to see many City fans award Stones such a low seasonal rating.
