Met him once in a nightclub in town, not a nice lad. Ran down his contract to benefit from a Bosman move, can’t understand why we have him near the club tbh

Then left us on a Bosman. Local lad too. I’ve got no time for him. Top player…. horrendous commentator. ?

Is Steve McManaman a Liverpool club legend?
Yes
No
McManaman made his Liverpool debut in December 1990. After making 364 appearances for the club in which he managed to score 66 goals, the midfielder left Anfield for a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid on a Bosman deal (per LFC). Now that this page shared their post on McManaman, this paved the way for lots of Liverpool fans to share their thoughts on the former Red.

Brilliant player but the way he went left a bitter taste. Never was the most likeable guy when comparing to some other players but a quality footballer nonetheless.

Sorry. Great player, yes, but had a team built round him, and left with an F. A. Cup winner’s medal and a League Cup winner’s medal. Under-achieved.

What do we think?
It seems from this group of replies, these Liverpool fans are still not happy with the way in which McManaman left the Merseyside club for his move to Real Madrid.
