Liverpool’s retro kit worn between 1989 and 1991 is now available to all the club’s fans on FIFA 20 (via @LFC on Twitter). Players of the video game are now able to select the kit when playing as the Anfield giants on the latest version of the FIFA series.
The Reds were crowned champions of England at the end of the 1989/90 season and wore this iconic strip at the time. Here is how news of this has gone down with supporters of the club on Twitter.

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that many of these Liverpool fans were pleased to see this famous kit added to the game. During the aforementioned 1989/90 season, Kenny Dalglish was the manager, Alan Hansen was the club captain and John Barnes was the club’s top goalscorer – with an impressive 22 goals in the top flight.
Football in the United Kingdom remains suspended and is not expected to return until mid-June at the earliest due to the global pandemic, and in our view, throwbacks such as these serve as a reminder of better times.
