Liverpool fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer news concerning Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.
This comes after German football journalist Christian Falk shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing that Liverpool were interested in signing the winger, but Sane knew that a move from City to Liverpool would not go down well with the City fans.
Falk also revealed that Sane only wants to move to Bayern Munich.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager on having their say on this latest transfer news.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:
True: @LFC was interested in @LeroySane19. BUT: @LeroySane19 knows that as a player from @ManCity cannot switch to @LFC . he wouldn't do that to fans. therefore the transfer was never an option for him. moreover: @LeroySane19 only wants to go to @FCBayern https://t.co/LpGHPo7XSa

Why can’t he switch? Milner and Sterling did it. We’ve never been rivals with City, never will. The only reason I can see him not coming is we don’t want to pay his wages or he wants guaranteed first team football. Which he won’t have competing with Mane

Maybe Sané could teach sterling something.

Would you have taken Leroy Sane at Liverpool last summer?
Yes
No
The German winger has been out injured for most of the season after picking up a serious injury in City’s Community Shield victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side at the start of the season.
We’re not rivals with Man City though, never have been and never will be. The arch rivals will always be Man United.

If players can go from Man Utd to Man City, there’s no reason why a player couldn’t leave City to join Liverpool, if he wanted to.

What do we think?
It appears that some of these Liverpool fans are not convinced by Falk’s point that Sane wouldn’t move to Liverpool as they are City’s rivals when the likes of James Milner and Raheem Sterling have both made the move between the two clubs in the past.
