Liverpool have finalised the terms of a new contract for Harvey Elliott but are delaying an official announcement, according to Football Insider. The 17-year-old joined the Merseyside club from Fulham in July 2019 (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
Elliott has appeared for the senior side in both the domestic cup competitions this season, playing every single minute of Liverpool’s run in the Carabao Cup. According to the report, his new contract is a three-year deal worth more than £20k per week. It is understood to include incentives and ‘the potential for a longer-term contract’ if certain targets are met.
Here is how a sample of the Anfield faithful have responded to the reports.
We clearly have so much trust in the kid, all the people claiming he won’t be worth it and it’s too much for a 17 year old need to chill. He will be incredible and he’ll be tied down for a long time. His attitude will improve,

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that there has been a mixed response to this report. There are some who believe Elliott is a top talent and is worthy of this contract, however, there are others who are concerned by the amount of money being dangled in front of the player at such an early stage of his career.
