Liverpool fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news surrounding a potential summer transfer move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
This comes after Liverpool news Twitter account @LFCTransferRoom shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in a report by Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report claims that Werner’s release clause could be reduced depending on how Leipzig fare in the remainder of the Bundesliga season. If the German side fail to win the league, his clause will drop by €10M (£8.7m), which will then be only €50M (£43.7m).
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans, who were quick to have their say on this latest development.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:

Should Timo Werner be Liverpool's main transfer target this summer?
Yes
No
Leipzig are currently in third place in the German Bundesliga table on 50 points, five points behind leaders Bayern Munich after 25 games played (per BBC Sport). Now that it has been reported that Werner’s price tag will be cheaper if his side don’t manage to win the league this season, this sparked a big reaction on Twitter among these Liverpool fans.
Sign him already!!!

£43M for Werner would be a steal.

This would be such a mistake if we don’t get him

What do we think?
If this news is true about Werner’s release clause, then it would make sense for these Liverpool fans to hope that Leipzig don’t win the Bundesliga this season so they can get the striker for a cheaper fee.
