Fans of Everton have taken to Twitter to slate the club after the Toffees relayed a report on the players returning to training.
On Tuesday, the Goodison Park club explained the measures that were being taken to keep players safe upon their return to training (per Everton), however, fans still aired their displeasure when the report was relayed to Twitter (per Everton).
? | It will be a very different routine for our players when they report back to USM Finch Farm on Wednesday for the first time since March… #EFC

Have to say Everton you do so much right but on this occasion you are getting this wrong. Players should be training hard in isolation for when the time is right to play football again. ???

Well said it’s ridiculous

Just don’t understand it. They can go training but can’t go to see their parents. They have not been training for the equivalent of the close season, yet Premier league want the players to train in small groups and be ready to play shortly. It wouldn’t happen close & pre season

Should Everton have protested against having to return to training?Yes, it is ridiculousNo, it's the right time |
The report from the Toffees, detailed how the players would arrive at the training ground at varied times and already be in their training gear upon arrival.
Four pitches across the USM Finch Farm site will then be used for training to maintain appropriate distancing and the training ground will undergo a ‘deep clean’ each evening.
However, after the report was shared to social media (per Everton), the Goodison Park faithful continued airing their dissatisfaction.
In all honesty who really cares, without being able to go to goodison to watch it will be sterile, football = fans at the ground, I was hopeful all this would loosen the money / tv aspect which is ruining the game, evidently not #allaboutthemoney

Shouldn’t be happening at all. It’s a disgrace you’re being a part of it. You do some brilliant charity work and lead the way most of the time but here you’re just another sheep prioritising money over all else. Disappointed in my club.

This should not be happening

What do we think?
As can be seen in these responses from Everton supporters, they are furious that the Toffees are returning to training at a time which they perceive to be too soon.
However, after Premier League shareholders voted unanimously to have players return to training this week (via Everton), there is little else the club could do.
