Everton are said to have made a move to sign Stoke City’s Mohamed Sankoh, according to Football Insider. The report claims that the Toffees are trying to beat Premier League rivals Chelsea to the player’s signature. The 16-year-old has made eight appearances in the Premier League 2 this season, providing one assist (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
Stoke City are unable to tie the centre-forward down to a professional contract until he turns 17 in October – and the Merseyside club are hoping to take advantage of his contractual situation (as per Football Insider). The report goes on to say that the Blues have scouted the Dutch Under-17 international ‘extensively’ and have been impressed by his progress.
Here is how some of the Goodison Park faithful have responded to the post.

Would you like to see Everton sign Mohamed Sankoh?

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that these Everton fans were surprised to learn of Sankoh’s age given his physical presence – though that seems to be an error on The Gwladys Street’s part – after appearing to upload a picture of (17-year-old) Andre Godfrinne in their tweet. Given the rate at which this promising young talent has developed (as per Football Insider), we believe Stoke City may have a hard time holding onto the striker.
