Do you think that Everton will be champions of England's top flight ever again?Yes, anything is possibleNo, I can't see it sadly |
During his career, Gray spent just two seasons at Goodison Park, having arrived in 1983 from Wolverhampton Wanderers and departed after the title win in 1985 for Aston Villa (per Transfermarkt).
However, after the club shared the interview footage to social media (per Everton), fans continued airing their admiration for the season in question.
Brilliant.

I long for them days again, I was a naive kid who just thought us & liverpool won all the pots & enjoyed trips to wembley. As a grown man & with a kid of my own now it’s been too long

What do we think?
As can be seen in the responses from these Everton supporters, they loved the interview footage of Andy Gray and enjoyed the trip down memory lane recalling the 1984/85 title-winning season.
With Gray having admitted that the Everton team at the time “expected to win the title” and then doing so was “confirmation that we [Everton] were the best team in the country, by some distance”, it is no surprise that fans loved the interview.
