Fans of Everton have been discussing the Toffees’ on-loan youngster Jonjoe Kenny after Patrick Boyland posted to Twitter about the defender.
On Sunday, the Athletic journalist posted about the Englishman’s latest performance for his loan club Schalke 04 in which the German outfit was defeated 3-0 by Augsburg (per Patrick Boyland), which had fans talking.
Jonjoe Kenny seems to be getting a fair amount of grief on here despite Schalke…
a. being pretty desperate at present
b. the second Augsburg goal largely stemming from others not doing their jobsBeen ok. Nothing more, nothing less

Schalke are a poor side mate

Some bizarre witch hunt for him Paddy. Don’t know why they can’t just accept he’s alright, a decent youth player and someone who gave 100% for us

Largely stemming, what defender jumps in like he did there it was woeful defending stays on feet he has a chance to win the ball soon as he went to ground every one knew it was a goal.

Is Jonjoe Kenny ever going to be good enough for the Toffees' first team? No, I don't think so sadlyYes, he could be decent |
For his role in the 3-0 defeat, the English right-back picked up a weak 6.3/10 rating during the clash at the Veltins-Arena (per WhoScored).
However, after Boyland looked to defend the 23-year-old full-back (per Patrick Boyland), fans continued airing their mixed reactions on the defender.
Not good enough for us unfortunately @Paddy_Boyland Palace or Burnley would suit his style of play.

Like most of our academy, he’s a league 1 player.
Anyone thinking he is Coleman’s eventual replacement is deluded.

Thats were he is, a steady ok player, people need to drop the he should be at us
— James’s Luxury Escapes (@SavEliiz2014) May 24, 2020
I hate judging players based on performances for other teams. He played well for us and going to shalke was about getting games under his belt not proving if he’s good enough or not. Get him back and let Carlo decide.

What do we think?
As can be seen in these responses from Everton supporters, it seems that some of the Goodison Park faithful agreed with the journalist while other fans did not.
However, a 6.5/10 average rating over the Bundesliga season as a whole, which has seen Kenny be only the 14th-best performer for die Königsblauen (per WhoScored), may suggest that the poor performance was not just a one-off.
